The International Master Course on Aging Science(IMCAS) World Congress 2025, recognized as a premier academic event in the field of medical aesthetics, commenced on January 30, 2025, in Paris, France
This event brings together experts in dermatology, plastic surgery, and aging science annually to share the latest insights in medical aesthetics. This year, over 350 companies are showcasing their latest products and technologies, and more than 900 speakers are delivering lectures on cutting-edge advancements in the field.
Merz Aesthetics(Merz) served as an official sponsor of IMCAS 2025 and hosted a special media event prior to the congress. During this pre-event, Merz unveiled the findings of its global study for the first time, conducted as part of its flagship campaign, ‘Confidence to Be’.
The ‘Confidence to Be’ campaign aims to reshape societal perceptions of standardized beauty and empower consumers to embrace their most authentic selves while leading more fulfilling lives. Through this initiative, Merz seeks to support individuals in achieving confidence beyond aesthetics, enhancing their overall well-being.
Merz conducted a global study titled “Pillars of Confidence: Global Insights on Aesthetics and Self-Affirmation” to explore the concept that “aesthetics help individuals speak more positively to themselves and build confidence”.
The study revealed that 7 out of 10 people consider aesthetic treatments as a way to manage their inner emotions, highlighting the shifting consumer perception of medical aesthetics and its positive impact on individuals’ lives. These findings further demonstrate how medical aesthetics is increasingly recognized as a tool for enhancing self-assurance and overall well-being.
Ph.D. Katherine Rice Warnell, one of the researchers involved in the study, and M.D. Shannon Humphrey, a dermatologist, are presenting the study’s findings.
