On January 30, 2025, Merz Aesthetics hosted an official media event before the opening of the International Master Course on Aging Science (IMCAS) World Congress 2025 in Paris. During this event, they unveiled their latest innovations and research in medical aesthetics.
At this event, Merz Aesthetics unveiled, for the first time, the findings of its global study conducted as part of its flagship campaign, "Confidence to Be." The company also organized a panel discussion with experts to facilitate a deeper conversation on the study's implications. Global research revealed a shifting consumer perception of medical aesthetics, highlighting its positive impact on individuals' lives. One of the key findings was that 7 out of 10 people consider aesthetic treatments a way to manage their inner emotions, emphasizing the evolving role of medical aesthetics in enhancing psychological well-being and self-confidence.
The experts in the panel discussion agreed that we are now in an era where many people embrace aging naturally while also seeking aesthetic treatments to enhance their confidence. They emphasized that medical aesthetics is no longer just about reversing aging but empowering individuals to feel their best in their skin.
The experts also emphasized physicians' evolving role in response to changing consumer perceptions. In particular, they pointed out that a significant amount of information shared on social media (SNS) is inaccurate, yet many patients accept it at face value. As a result, the panel stressed the importance of building strong, trust-based relationships between medical professionals and patients. They highlighted that healthcare providers must actively deliver accurate information and guide patients toward safe and effective aesthetic treatments.
