From a Yangju trip through four art museums to a Paju DMZ trip combining rest in the forest with local food and art, Gyeonggi Province has prepared programs to enjoy the autumn season to the fullest.
Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization announced on October 19 that they are launching autumn travel programs selected through the “2026 Gyeonggi Local Tourism Content Discovery and Support Program”: the “Jangheung Art Museum Tour” in Yangju and “Re:DMZ” in Paju.
Yangju “Jangheung Art Museum Tour”: 82% off a combined pass to four museums
In Yangju, a combined pass is on sale for the art museums around Jangheung-myeon. For KRW 3,900, about 82% off the KRW 22,000 total of individual admission fees, visitors can enter four venues: Yangju City Chang Ucchin Museum of Art, Yangju City Min Bokjin Museum of Art, Gana Art Park and the Ahn Sang-chul Museum of Art. A total of 1,000 passes go on sale from October 19, and they can be used for 10 days, from October 30 to November 8.
Special docent tours, performances and hands-on activities are also scheduled during this period. On October 31, family programs including magic and bubble shows, picnic drawing and bookmark making will be held at the Chang Ucchin Museum of Art and Gana Art Park, and on November 7 a small concert will take place at the Ahn Sang-chul Museum of Art. Special docent tours are open to the first 30 people per session by advance reservation.
A tour package combining museum visits with a dedicated bus tour will also be launched. Schedules and reservation details for each program are available on the combined pass sales pages, including Naver Smart Store and NOL Ticket.
Paju “Re:DMZ”: rest, walk and taste in the DMZ Forest inside the Civilian Control Zone
In Paju, the “Re:DMZ” Open Week is under way, centered on the “DMZ Forest” located inside the Civilian Control Zone. The travel program combines rest and outdoor activities in the forest with local food and visits to cultural and art spaces. Since late September, each session has offered a range of experiences, including relaxation through yoga, tea ceremony, meditation and gardening, walking while listening to the sounds of the forest, and trail running.
On some courses, participants can taste dishes made with Paju’s Jangdan beans at Haesmillae The Table. Other courses include visits to Heyri’s “Camerata,” a music listening space, and the “Mimesis Art Museum.”
Participants are currently being recruited for programs on October 24 and 26. Activities and venues differ by session, so visitors should check the course for their preferred date before booking. Detailed schedules and reservations are available on the “Re:DMZ” website (https://redmz.netlify.app/).
In November, a “Post Week” for foreign visitors and an “Inclusion Day” for pregnant women, older adults and people with limited mobility will also be held. Inclusion Day will take place on November 3 and 10, offering forest experiences and rest programs tailored to participants’ needs.
Local tourism content from six Gyeonggi cities and counties, rolled out in turn
Both programs are supported by the “2026 Gyeonggi Local Tourism Content Discovery and Support Program,” which links each region’s nature, culture and everyday resources into travel experiences. This year, Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization selected content from six cities and counties: Gwangmyeong, Dongducheon, Yangju, Yeoju, Paju and Hanam. Starting with Gwangmyeong and Hanam in August, programs have been rolled out according to each region’s schedule.
“In Yangju, visitors can enjoy art while touring several museums, and in Paju they can experience forest activities, local food and cultural spaces together,” an official from the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization said. “We will support visitors so they can stay longer in the region, discover its many attractions and come back again.”
More information on Gyeonggi’s local tourism programs is available on the “Oroji Gyeonggi” website (www.gglocalcon.com).
