A festival is set to open its doors, offering a place where locals and international residents can gather to heal both mind and body, while simultaneously celebrating the beauty of the fleeting autumn season.
The 'Healthy Gangnam, Hand-in-Hand Health Walk Festival' will be held on the November 15 at Daechi Neighborhood Park. The event is hosted by the Gangnam Global Village Center and co-organized by Health Kyunghyang, K-Health Media, and Hope Sharing Council.
The event has been organized to bring together foreign residents and local citizens in Korea to broaden mutual understanding and promote both physical and mental health through walking—an activity accessible to everyone.
A diverse array of hands-on experience programs, allowing foreign residents to mingle comfortably with local citizens, has been richly prepared, alongside lectures delivered by experts.
Beyond the general trail walk, participants can fully grasp the benefits of exercise through expert lecture classes, including Nordic Walking using ski poles. Furthermore, essential life-saving knowledge can be gained through courses on CPR, the Heimlich maneuver, and basic first aid for daily life emergencies.
Enjoy an added bonus of rest and relaxation with performances perfectly suited for an autumn day. Separately organized zones will feature a traditional games experience, a DIY traditional craft making activity, and a brain gym designed to enhance cognitive function for the elderly. Furthermore, participants can check their general health status, including blood pressure, blood sugar, and electrocardiogram (ECG), along with lifestyle counseling.
All foreign residents and local citizens residing in Korea are welcome to participate. Those wishing to attend may register by accessing the QR code on the poster or by completing the Google Form application linked below. A variety of prizes will also be given away through a raffle after the event.
The event is proudly sponsored by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, The Korean Movement Disorder Society, The Korean Association of Clinical Pathologists, The Seoul Chapter of the Emergency Medical Technicians Association, Global Medical Support Volunteers, Heart Guard, Junghun Pharm, Kim Jung Moon Aloe, and T&I Ganuda.
