KOREA DEARMA 2024: Pioneering Advances in Dermatological Treatments

Global Dermatologists Unite to Explore Revolutionary Therapies for Refractory Pigmentary Disorders and Anti-Aging

KOREA DEARMA 2024: Pioneering Advances in Dermatological Treatments

The Korea Derma 2024 conference, where dermatologists from around the world gather to exchange the latest medical insights, is set to begin.

Since 2019, the Korean Dermatological Association has hosted this event to foster global collaboration and showcase Korea's advanced medical technology.
From November 1st to 3rd, at K-Hotel in Seoul, this year’s Korea Derma will feature discussions on the latest insights into treating acne, scars, melasma, and more.

Dr. Kim, Hyun-jo will present on treating refractory pigmentary disorders from a cellular aging perspective. He will introduce a combination therapy that includes laser toning, PDLLA, pulsed microneedle RF and others. He will emphasize its effectiveness by targeting senescent cells for a more fundamental treatment approach.

Dr. Kim, Hyun-jo's combination therapy includes laser toning, PDLLA (Poly-D, L-Lactic Acid), pulsed microneedle RF, and topical retinoids. This treatment method is designed to significantly change the cellular environment related to pigmentation formation, thereby maximizing treatment effectiveness.

Dr. Kim, Hyun-jo emphasized that while traditional treatments for refractory pigmentary disorders like melasma, Becker's nevus, and café-au-lait spots primarily target melanocytes and melanin, the combination therapy he introduced targets senescent cells, making it possible to achieve more fundamental and effective treatment.

On the other hand, Dr. Kim, Hyun-jo specializes in treating intractable pigmentary disorders, such as melasma and Ota's nevus, and anti-aging treatments like non-invasive face ifting, fillers, and Botox. He remains committed to research to provide more accurate and honest treatments for his patients. As a result of these efforts, his paper on depressed acne scar treatment using picosecond laser was featured on the cover of 'Lasers in Surgery and Medicine' (SCI), the most prestigious journal in the field of medical lasers.
