
Last year, the number of international medical tourists visiting Korea surpassed 2 million for the first time ever. To further enhance the quality of medical tourism services, the Seoul Metropolitan Government is expanding its pool of medical tourism interpreter coordinators and strengthening their professional capabilities.
The 2026 Seoul Medical Tourism Interpreter Coordinator Capacity-Building Program featured practical training on medical interpretation, patient communication, understanding the cultural characteristics of patients from different countries, and the evolving role of interpreter coordinators in the AI era.
